It's been mostly the same old stuff here lately, but I've been trying to go visit some Nagoya sites that I haven't been to yet. The weather has been BEAUTIFUL lately and I have decided that I don't want to wear pants anymore- just shorts and skirts. Lately I've gotten by with just shorts, t-shirt, and a jacket!
Mrs. Yurikusa is on a business trip to Seoul for a couple days this week, so after dinner on Tuesday, Mr. Yurikusa took Toki and me to Karaoke! It was lots of fun- I think I surprised them by singing mostly Japanese songs, and we smuggled in some Chu-hi. It's amazing how fast time flies by while you're doing Karaoke!
Wednesday I didn't do much except Skype with some of my lovely friends from ND (who I don't think read this so I probably shouldn't bother with the flattery).
Today I went on a reconnaissance mission to scout out the Nagoya Port area for when my family comes to visit. It was so nice to sit out in the sun, feel the ocean breeze, and smell the sea. I ended up sitting outside for about an hour reading a book. I picked up a booklet on the aquarium and will have to evaluate if that will be fun. My assessment on the port is that it is definitely worth our time though!
A little to the side of the port I found a weird place that was built to look like a town in Italy, complete with a canal down the middle, but it was completely deserted and closed up. It was kind of eerie to walk by. I looked it up on the internet, where I saw that it was just an Italtion-themed area with restaurants, gelato shops, and even gondola drivers, but it closed about a year ago due to financial difficulties.
The rest of this weekend is already packed full of events for me. I'm going to go to the park and enjoy the last of the sakura trees tomorrow and then head out Saturday morning for a one night trip to Kyoto. Should be fun!

Fact of the Day: Almost all cars here have TVs in them!!! Not just movie players, TVs with actual channels!I thought ours was just a GPS, but the other day we changed the channel on it. Cool, huh?
