Wednesday night my favorite tv show (Quiz! Hexagon) was on for a three hour special from 7-10! Toki and I stayed up to watch the whole thing. It was super funny but I didn't understand a lot of it. On Thursday I didn't do too much except watching tv and studying for my test on Friday.
Friday I went out to dinner and then Karaoke-ing with some friends. Time really flies by while you're doing Karaoke! We did two and a half hours but it seemed like much less than that.
Saturday I got to go to a Dragons baseball game with the Yurikusas! It was lots of fun. Everyone in the crowd has little bats that they beat together to do the cheers that are organized and started by a conductor in the outfield. There are even a couple guys that walk around with trumpets and one or two drums. I caught on to a couple of the cheers but there were a whole bunch. It'll be fun to bring my family to the game when they come here at the end of May!
After the game my family invited my friend who was at the game with us to come over for dinner. They ended up having the neighbors come over too so we all sat around and talked all night. It was lots of fun and really good Japanese practice! The neighbors had lived in San Diego for a couple years so they knew a lot about American culture and the English language. It was really interesting when we were talking about English and its pronunciation because Mrs. Yurikusa said that in all the years that she had learned English in school she never heard that there was a difference in the way that L's and R's are pronounced until now.
Well that's about it for now- I'll put up pictures from Nagoya Dome soon.
Fact of the Day- At the baseball game, while there were hamburgers and hotdogs there was also lots of traditional Japanese foods like takoyaki, yakisoba, etc.
