Weekend Update

Not too much going on at the moment. It's Sunday morning/almost afternoon here now, so I'll just be spending most of today doing homework. I have a midterm (presentation) tomorrow, and two other presentations in Japanese, along with a homework sheet and a vocab. quiz. It shouldn't be too bad but I need to do some work on it.

Friday my final test went very well, and even sitting through class the rest of the day wasn't bad. Great news! Mr. Yurikusa bought 3 adult and 3 child tickets for opening day for the Chunichi Dragons! Mrs. Yurikusa has to work and isn't that interested in baseball anyway, so I get to go and bring a friend! The game is on March 28th and I can't wait!

Yesterday I just bummed around all day. I watched some anime and started reading Twilight again just for fun. I'm thinking about taking a trip to the International Library today to get a couple new books, but it depends on how my homework is going. I got up and made myself pancakes this morning and don't really have much else going on the rest of the day.

I have been having fun the past couple of days watching Japan's World Baseball Classic team play some exhibition games. The first two were against Australia, which is apparently a really bad team. They had 6 errors in one game! Japan won both of them. The one on tv last night was against the Seibu Lions, I think. The Lions are a Japan league team. I didn't see the end, so I'm not sure who won. It's fun watching Ichiro come up to bat because everyone goes crazy and there are cameras flashing everywhere. It reminds me of when Mark McGwire was going for the home run record. Mrs. Yurikusa said that the house where Ichiro was born is very close to ours, and that Toki wants to go to the same high school. Sometimes people see Ichiro's dad around town, and he looks exactly the same. People call him 'Chichiro' - Chichi means father. Pretty funny!

Until next time!

Meg

  1. Woohoo! A baseball game in Japan! How exciting! I hope the Dragons hit lots of 本塁打.
