2 days of class

Monday: I had Japanese from 9:20-11:50. I don't know how long I can take these super long periods of Japanese. I guess it'll make me better though. For lunch I had some kind of Chicken and Egg on top of rice. Excellent of course. I'm always still hungry after I'm done though now that the jet lag has worn off so I had to buy an apple pie piece from the bakery and a Snickers from Lawsons. My stomach is expensive :(

In the afternoon I had Shodo (Calligraphy). It seems like it would be easy to paint characters, but it's really hard to get it right, and I'm not very good at it so far. After Shodo was Japanese History. I've heard really bad things about the class but the prof seems kind of funny so far. I like Japanese History so hopefully it won't be too bad. All we did today was introduce ourselves though and then I got to leave.

For dinner we had Salmon fried with some veggies. Everyone else was putting Mayo on their veggies so I did too, and it was actually very good. Mrs. Y also gave me some Nori (seaweed) for my rice since she knows I like it now :) When I come home it will be weird to not have rice every meal.

Tuesday:
Today I started class later so I didn't have to get up at 7! I had Japanese from 10:05-12:30. I think I'm getting gipped on credit hours bc I have this class for 12.5 hours per week and am only getting 8 credits. After class I went to lunch with my ND friends and 2 Japanese girls that one of them knew, name Haruno and Ako. They were both very friendly and nice. After lunch one of them said she had to go to ping pong class and when I said I loved ping pong she said I should come with her. 4 of us ended up going with and we played ping pong for the next 2 hours until I had to go to woodblock printing class. I had originally wanted to joing ping pong club but decided not to when I saw they have 4 meetings a week for like 3 hours each. I'm reconsidering now though bc I had so much fun.

Woodblock printing was boring bc we just watched and instructional video and then left. No playing with our newly acquired knives. Our 'homework' for next week is to write our names in block letters on a piece of paper. Sounds tough.

I finished my homework right away when I got back and then ate Curry Rice for dinner! It was delicious. After dinner I watched a soccer game between Japan and Yemen. I didn't see the end, but I'm pretty sure Japan won. I don't really like soccer, but I realized that I miss watching sports a lot. I need to figure out when Nanzan's teams have games- especially hockey!

Interesting Fact of the Day: It really is true that when people in Japan are sick they wear masks over their nose and mouth. One of the kids from ND was a little sick today and his host mom made him wear one! My plan is to never get sick.
