Nagoya Station and Sakae

Today I met up with friends at Nagoya Station. It is a really huge building right downtown. We went to a bookstore in the building, and I found the book I had been looking for. I've already read 84 pages of it, so I'll probably have to make a trip back soon!

After the bookstore we wanted to find a Mos Burger (http://www.mos.co.jp/index.php) to eat lunch, and ended up taking the train a couple stops down to Sakae. Sakae is a really nice shopping district- and also really expensive. There were all kinds of designer stores like Louis Vuitton, Dolce & Gabana, etc. We found a cool little shopping area that had a Shonen Jump (Comic magazine) store! There was all kinds of cool, nerdy anime stuff. I managed to only buy one thing- a One Piece flag to hang up in my apartment next year.

I didn't really do too much today besides wander around, but it was fun seeing all kinds of cool stuff- including a Japanese punk band! I ended up being out for about 8 hours!

For dinner we had spaghetti and garlic bread- it was very good as usual, but not your usual spaghetti- it didn't have any tomato sauce, just some oil and meat.

I'm pretty tired from walking around all day so I'm going to bed soon, but tomorrow is a national holiday (Coming of Age Day, a celebration for everyone who is twenty) so I don't have to go to class. One other kid from ND and I are twenty, so we feel like we should get to celebrate too! I think we might go to Osu tomorrow for dinner.

PS. I attached a video I took of us going up a huge glass elevator in a building we saw across from the Train Station. It's sideways though.
