Like I expected, nothing really exciting happened on Monday. I had class until 11:50, then ate some cup ramen and onigiri for lunch, then had calligraphy and Japanese History. History goes for 2.5 hours, but the time actually went by pretty fast. The teacher is kind of funny in an unintentional way. It should be interesting. Unfortunately tonight for the first time I really didn't want to eat my dinner- but I forced it down anyway. It was rice with some veggies on top... along with an egg from a little bird and some tentacles. I wasn't exactly crazy about it. After dinner I ran upstairs and ate a peanut butter granola bar. Not the best of days, but that is bound to happen sometimes.
Today was much much better. On Tuesdays class starts a little later so I got to sleep in some. Japanese class seemed to go by pretty quickly. Afterwards I went to lunch at a little curry place on the edge of campus with friends. Not knowing what I was doing, apparently I ordered the spiciest curry, but it really wasn't that spicy. I had a break afterwards before woodblock printing so I went to the grocery store and scoped out what kinds of things they have so that I can cook dinner for the Yurikusa's sometime. I think they have all of the things it would take to make spaghetti, so that's good. Woodblock printing was tough- I had to trace my name onto tracing paper, press it onto a block of wood with carbon paper, then dig out the wood around my first name and inside of my last name. Tough and time consuming! I didn't finish in the hour and 1/2 long class. I still have 4 hours left. I accidentally stabbed myself in the thumb but the safety guard saved my life.
By the time I got home tonight it was 6:30! I worked on homework then ate some delicious Sukiyaki on rice. After dinner I worked on more homework while watching a tv show where famous comedians were competing against each other to see who was the best singer. That's about all I had time to do at home today because I was so busy!
I've got some good plans for tomorrow so it should be a good entry tomorrow night!
Fact of the Day: All of the women here dress up a lot more. College age girls almost always wear short skirts and tights with heels or boots (also with a heel). I don't know how they walk to school! Girls also wear a lot of bright colors and color combinations that you would never see at home. Hot pink tights are definitely not unusual.
